Yoga at the Point

PITTSBURGH -- Just a few years ago, the sight of hundreds of folks doing yoga together in a park in Pittsburgh would have been unimaginable. Not anymore.

Met a new friend on my walk to the Point.

Preparing for doga?

The Breathe Project, Edible Allegheny, natural food vendors, Bike Pittsburgh, etc.

A whole lot of down dogs.

Oakland by Bike

OAKLAND/PITTSBURGH -- On my way home from the Carnegie Mellon campus, I passed a painter, Stephen Foster, Dippy the Diplodocus and Shakespeare.

Dippy trying to hop on a tourist bus.

Charlotte and Jonathan, a Progression

PITTSBURGH -- My favorite act from Britain's Got Talent. Charlotte is 16 and Jonathan is 17. If you enjoy opera, you'll like these three YouTube videos. If you don't especially care for opera, then you really have to watch all three. It's a mini-drama. An underdog. Bullying. Harnessing unknown inner strength. Risking everything for a true friend.

Pool Party at the (other) Pileggis

UPPER BURRELL -- Bill and Allison hosted a family reunion at their country estate. They call it a house, but I'm sticking with country estate. You decide.

Al at the grill.

Lila takes the first ride on the zip line.

It works! As long as you weigh less than 50 pounds.

Brand new kitchen.

New powder room. Allison's design.

Danni.

Danni's automatic doggie door.

Danni's nook (not the electronic kind, although maybe he reads in there.)

LAX and Its 'hood (Check out the sunset)

HOME -- Some pix from LAX. We didn't have a van, so I walked around in the afternoon and then we walked with some colleagues to dinner nearby. All of this is within one walking mile of LAX.

Poor birdie. Outside but still inside.

Poor tree. Outside but wishing it could have run away from the saw.

These looked like brushes for shaving cream.

The shaving cream brushes came from this tree.

In the afternoon, I was disappointed that I couldn't get a decent picture of the underbelly of a plane. But look what we found on our walk back from our Thai dinner:
